On Saturday 24th July over 750 people took part in the Fresh Air Festival at Thirsk Auction Mart.
Opened by Cllr Seymour, Chairman of North Yorkshire County Council and Rosie Page, daughter of James Heriott a wide range of activities, entertainment, information stalls, trade stalls and demonstrations were enjoyed by all those attending. Supporting the London 2012 Open Weekend campaign visitors were challenged to try a new outdoor activity and find a new hobby to take up!
Those which attracted particular interest included the climbing wall, archery, kayaking, quad bikes, nordic walking, croquet, skipping and pond dipping. The Royal Pigeon Racing Association had great interest in beginning to start keeping racing pigeons and Moorside Alpaca’s also had a great day.
